Dr. Patel is a research faculty member in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Duke University with a PhD in Epidemiology from UNC-Chapel Hill. His research focuses on regional systems of emergency care, with particular emphasis on how prehospital triage and transport decisions affect outcomes for patients with stroke, traumatic injury, and sepsis.
